Frukt up your life with “Nordic Natty”!
January is only just over and for those who decided to make it a white one and lay off alcohol for a while, ciders, fruit pét-nats and other mixed fermentations are a great way to get back in the game at full speed but with half the amount of alcohol.
L’Antidote
Speaking of low alcohol:
“L’Antidote” 2021 by Romain des Grottes is an incredible blend of
unfermented Gamay mixed with apple juice infused with wild herbs and spices.
A delicious and slightly effervescent Bojo Gamay with 0.0% alcohol!
As you might have guessed by now, we talk about natural wine in it’s broadest possible sense as all things fermented: be it grapes, white, grey, orange or blue, apples, pears or plums.
Really, we don’t care what it’s made of, as long as it’s fit to drink, and the mixed fermentation shelfs in our virtual bottle shop are packed with ciders, fruit pét-nats and loads of other good stuff.
It’s time for “Nordic natty”
In the Nordic countries we’re blessed with a climate that’s close to perfect for growing apples, pears, plums and berries with just the right balance between ripeness and acidity.
On top of that a dynamic and vibrant community has sparked off the natural wine scene in Scandinavian cities like Malmö, Aarhus and Copenhagen with an ambition to make ciders and fruit pét-nats from fruit harvested from local sites that haven’t been treated with chemicals, fermented with indigenous yeasts and made without any additives out of the low intervention principle of nothing being added and nothing removed.
In other words: 100% natural ciders and fruit pét-nats with an authentic expression of origin and terroir.
