AMI-AMIE 2021 is a highly untraditional blend of Burgundy Pinot Noir, Beaujolais Gamay and two varieties of Grenache from Languedoc that comes in charming 1 liter bottles. In many ways this cuvée reflects the true spirit behind AMI, a project that was started by the the two passionate and highly talented friends Paul Perarnau and Willy Roulendes. For every vintage AMI keeps pushing the boundaries of what’s understood as authentic Bourgogne. In the case of AMIE-AMI by blending grapes harvested in Bourgogne, Beaujolais and Languedoc and publicly displaying the origin of the grapes, unlike what most Burgundy winemakers do in bad vintages, when Gamay from the Beaujolais or Grenache or Syrah from the Rhône valley is used to add colour, fruit or maturity. Go AMI!
