Gamins 2020 is a great example of Adrien de Mello’s amazing ability to make wines that almost makes your mouth water. One of the secrets behind the freshness and crunchy bite in his red wines is the fact that he presses most of his reds in whole bunches after a relatively short maceration time and leaves them to age on glass fibre tanks. In the case of his Gamay, harvested from a north-east facing vineyard with 50-year-old vines and a subsoil dominated by schist, it’s pressed after 14 days of semi-carbonic maceration in whole clusters and fermented and aged in fiber glass vessels and bottled after 10 months. The result is a herby and super juicy Gamay, just the way we like it!
