Description

If you ask us, going for a magnum bottle is always a good idea. End of discussion! Bigger is better and size matters or something like that…
Jokes aside, all of our experience with natural wine points to the fact that juicy wine tend to be even more juicy on magnum bottles or bigger, just as โ€œbigโ€ wines tend to be even more expressive and complex in large bottles. The reason why that is, we can only guess, but we can only recommend that you try it out for yourself, and we always make sure to have a whole bunch of big bottles in stock.

About the Producer

Cรฉdric Garreau is a young, talented natural winemaker that people have been talking about for over years now – and with good reason! Cรฉdric established Garoโ€™Vin in 2010 with only 3,5 hectares of land spread over four different vineyards planted with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grolleau Noir and Chenin Blanc in the municipalities of Beaulieu-sur-Layon and Saint-Lambert-du-Lattay. The age of the vines varies between 5 years for the youngest up to almost 100 years for the oldest with sub-soils composed of schist, clay and silt. All work in the vineyards is done by hand by means of organic and biodynamic farming practices, except a little mechanical help from his Renault 80S tractor thatโ€™s about the same age as Cรฉdric and works the soils like a charm. The Garoโ€™cellar is located just across the road from his house where he lives with his adorable family in the small village Chanzeaux.

Cรฉdricโ€™s wines are interesting because theyโ€™re rounded by the artisan tradition in Anjou, for instance in his โ€œAnjou Rougeโ€ thatโ€™s concentrated and deep with a soft touch of fruity cabernet-tannins, and all out natural and experimental at the same time. A good example of this is his โ€œLunaticโ€ that Cรฉdric in some vintages macerates for a couple of weeks before pressing, something which gives an aromatic, strong and quite spicy Chenin, or with his semi-carbonic experiments with Cabernet Sauvignon and Grolleau in his โ€œLulu Berlueโ€.ย
