Description

If you ask us, going for a magnum bottle is always a good idea. End of discussion! Bigger is better and size matters or something like that…
Jokes aside, all of our experience with natural wine points to the fact that juicy wine tend to be even more juicy on magnum bottles or bigger, just as โ€œbigโ€ wines tend to be even more expressive and complex in large bottles. The reason why that is, we can only guess, but we can only recommend that you try it out for yourself, and we always make sure to have a whole bunch of big bottles in stock.

About the Producer

Nicolas gradually started taking over his familyโ€™s 4th generation domaine in Marchampt back in 2005 and has since then been working hard on an organic conversion of the 8 hectares of land by means of biodynamic and polycultural farming practices.ย

Nicolasโ€™ has more than 30 different micro-vineyards planted with up to 80 year-old Gamay and Chardonnay. The plots are situated on both sides of a densely forested coteaux, some of which have an altitude 450-560 meters and a gradient of 35 to 55%. Working vines in a cool and damp microclimate like this is a challenge, because the yields are generally quite low and thereโ€™s a high risk of mushroom diseases and the like, especially in cold or rainy years.ย

However, this is exactly what gives Nicolasโ€™ wines their freshness and crisp mineral feel and really makes them something special.
