Pinot Blanc 2019 – Piri Naturel

Weißburgunder grown in Burg Layer Schloßberg on shist. Piri went through this vineyard several times during harvest and for this wine she picked only the really ripe and golden grapes that stayed on the vines the longest. Aged 3 years in used barriques, completely on the full lees until August 2022, no battonnage throughout the entire time. Piri personally enjoys this process and the long maturation of the wine that goes through different phases. When the fruit starts to calm down, the wine develops salty and mineral aromas that shine bright. When the lees settle the wine clarifies naturallly. Then the oxidation kicks in and the wine once again becomes more complex. Taking the time to sit down and enjoy this wine takes you on a journey!
