Although they are handcrafted high quality grapes grown in a Grand Cru vineyard with artisan vinification, Piri is not allowed to put the GC name “Goldloch” written on the label by German wine law. Gold Layen refers to the vineyard site “Goldloch” in her village “Burg Layen” and Altdeutsche word “Laye” for rock/cliff.
