Les Vacances 2022 is in Valentin Létoquart’s own words Val de Combrès’ equivalent to grenadine. And really, it’s that easy to drink!

Les Vacances 2020 is made from grapes harvested from a vineyard situated on a hillside with an altitude of 150-300 meters where the soils are relatively poor and sandy and on a plain with 150 meters altitude where the soils are more rich and deep with limestone and clay. A short macerated on Carignan in whole bunches and directly pressed Grenache creates a luminous and astonishingly easy-drinking red wine. According to Valentin Letocquart this wine is Val de Combrés’ equivalent to grenadine. And really, it’s that easy to drink!
Val de Combrès is a small domain situated in Maubec in Luberon run by the uncompromising naturalist Valentin Létoquart. Valentin’s 7 hectares of vineyards are spread out over a large and flat plateaux as well as a more barren and rocky northwest-facing hillside on the edge of the wild and beautiful Combrès valley. The vineyards are between 20 and 50 years old and planted with Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Cabernet Franc and Gros Vert. Occasionally he buys négoce-grapes for his whites and pét-nats from other “bio” friends in the local area.
“No sulfites no cry” has always been Valentin’s motto and ever since his first vintage back in 2014 he has been a strong advocate for no-bullshit natural winemaking. The wines from Val de Combrès give an honest and true expression of the Southern climate, yet Valentin’s style is clean and fresh, and all of his cuvées have an elegance and finesse that’s rare in the region.
